AfroPoets Famous Writers
IN WINTER
Sometimes they sound like little birds,
But I can tell they're only squirrels.
I see their shadows on the sill,
The purple shadows of their tails.
They dance upon my sill,
Reflected from the trees.
In winter when the leaves are gone
I like gay silhouettes like these.
